Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs).

We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.

We have an opportunity in Avonmouth for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The salary for this role will be around 60,000 per year, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer is responsible for all electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering and maintenance with some aspects of mechanical engineering at the Energy from Waste Plant, in co-operation with the Mechanical and the Central Engineering Team.

The EC&I Engineer will ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, to preserve the value of the assets and to comply with environmental health and safety requirements.

Ensuring financial targets are met within the EC&I department.

The EC&I Engineer is responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the ERF plant, including the EC&I workshops management.

The EC&I Engineer will be primarily focused on.

  • Safety and Work Management
  • Identification and resolution of problems, escalation to management in a timely fashion.
  • Completion of EC&I planned maintenance.
  • EC&I Outage Management.
  • Contractor Management.
  • Day to day management of the Electrical and Control & Instrumentation technicians.
  • Managing direct reports’ contractual hours of work on a monthly and annual basis.

Working closely with the site Engineering Manager, Other trade Engineers, Stock Controller, and the Operations team to deliver robust engineering solutions and contractual support to meet plant availability targets.
