Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.
We have an opportunity at our ERF in Avonmouth, Bristol, for an Auxiliary Plant Operator to join our team working 40 hours per week, on a 5 week shift pattern: 2 days 2 nights, 5 days off; 2 days 3 nights, 4 days off; 3 days 2 nights, 12 days off. The salary for this role will be £37,472.00 per year plus shift allowance, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.
About the role:
The Auxiliary Plant Operator (APO) will work on a shift rotation to competently carry out operational activities within the boiler house and turbine hall and ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical and timely manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Under the direction of the Shift Team Leader, you will efficiently operate the day to day running of the plant, with a focus on maximising plant availability. You will also assist the Shift Team with the operation of plant whilst maintaining all company standards and ensuring legal compliance.
What are we looking for?
- An understanding of process/factory machinery.
- Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
- Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry.
- Full UK driving licence.
