Mechanical Engineer – Exeter
We have an opportunity in Exeter for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional on-call requirements.
Salary: £57,842 per year, plus participation in an annual bonus scheme and a range of benefits.

As the Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for all aspects of mechanical engineering and maintenance at the Energy Recovery Facility, working with Electrical and C&I engineers. You will ensure optimal long‑term availability of the plant to preserve asset value and meet health, safety, environmental and financial targets. Responsibilities include efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities for the ERF, as well as management of stores and workshops.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of repair methods for mechanical machinery and materials, PSSR, and compliance and management of WSE.
- Demonstrable knowledge of contractor management.
- Experience with Permits to Work and Safe System of Work.
- Experience supervising teams and contractors to deliver agreed KPIs.
- Appropriate engineering qualifications such as HNC/HND (or equivalent).
