We have an opportunity in Trident Park, Cardiff for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary for this role will be £60,000 - £65,000 per year, and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits. The Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer is responsible for all electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering and maintenance with some aspects of mechanical engineering at the Energy from Waste Plant, in co-operation with the Mechanical and the Central Engineering Team. The EC&I Engineer will ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, to preserve the value of the assets and to comply with environmental health and safety requirements, ensuring financial targets are met within the EC&I department. The EC&I Engineer is responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities associated with the ERF plant, including the EC&I workshops management.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of repair methods of EC&I machinery and equipment.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work i.e., plant isolations and safety systems.
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems upkeep and maintenance (Valmet, Siemens etc.).
  • Experience of health, safety and environment legislation relevant to process or power industry.
  • Experience in working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience in supervising teams and contractors to deliver agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Possess appropriate Engineering qualifications such as ONC / HNC (or equivalent).
  • Appropriate skills and experience to be able to hold a position of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and qualified to work on both LV and HV electrical systems.
