As Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM) you will provide dual operational and technical leadership within the facilities team, combining hands‐on HV/LV electrical expertise with facilities management capability. In this role you will strengthen the site’s technical resilience, support the development of the team and ensure smooth day‐to‐day operations within a business‐critical high-performance computing data centre environment employing cutting-edge cooling technology. As the deputy to the Facilities Manager, you will support operational decision-making, contractor management, compliance oversight, and electrical safety leadership.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Essential
    • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
    • Experience in HV/LV systems with the ability to act as or become an Authorised Person.
    • Experience working in a data centre, critical environment, or high‐availability infrastructure.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical systems.
    • Experience supervising contractors and supporting facilities operations.
    • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a high‐pressure environment with strict safety protocols.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in facilities management or deputy/leadership roles.
    • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH certification.
    • Experience with CAFM systems, PPM management, or compliance tracking tools.
    • UPS, generator, cooling systems, and BMS competence.
    • Project delivery experience (small works, refurbishments, system upgrades).
