The Opportunity:
Viridian Solar is the UK's leading provider of integrated solar solutions for construction. With an established reputation in solar and housebuilding, and as part of the Marshalls PLC Group, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth across the social housing market. We are looking for a Product Manager to take responsibility for the whole product lifecycle of Viridian Solar's manufactured PV products, from concept and development through launch, iteration, and end-of-life. You will work cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, operations, and external partners (roofers, housebuilders, and solar installers) to ensure that our products meet market needs, regulatory requirements, and our high standards for design and durability. This is a key role in the business as demand for roof-integrated solar continues to grow, driven by changes to building regulations.
What you will be doing:
- Market Insight: Conducting competitor analysis, gathering customer feedback, and identifying emerging trends in solar energy, roofing, and construction standards.
- Product Development: Translating customer and market needs into actionable product requirements and working closely with R&D and engineering teams.
- Creating guides, technical notes, white papers, FAQs and other documents to answer routine customer questions.
- Contributing to the development of marketing documents and web pages.
- Writing blogs and articles on industry trends, developments and new regulations.
- Maintaining the content of installation manuals, user guides, product datasheets and all documentation relating to the products.
- Advising on pricing strategy, maintaining price lists.
What success looks like:
You will become our leading expert on the Clearline range of roof-integrated solar PV and solar inverters. You will be the go-to person for colleagues with questions about the products, competitors and relevant regulatory standards.
Product Strategy: Define and evolve product vision, roadmap, and positioning for Clearline fusion and Inverter and future innovations. Representing the business and influencing technical standard setting and industry groups - MCS, Future Homes Hub, Solar Energy UK, NFRC working groups, NHBC meetings.
We're Looking For:
- Numerate with a technical background - likely to have a technical degree or equivalent.
- Organised and accurate.
- A persuasive and clear communicator - verbal and written.
- Presentable, commanding respect in a group.
- Approachable, sociable and reliable team player.
- Fluent in English speaking and presenting. German language skills would be advantageous.
- Management experience would be advantageous.
- Based in the UK.
Useful Experience:
- 3-7+ years of product management experience in renewable energy, construction, building products, or electrical engineering.
- Strong technical aptitude. Comfortable with construction details, installation methods, and safety requirements.
- Solar experience would be an advantage, but training can be provided.
