We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for a 15‑16 month fixed term contract, who thrives on variety and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. This is a hands‑on corporate role at the heart of Virgin Group, where you’ll work across a rich mix of ventures, investments and global businesses. You’ll bring sharp corporate expertise, guide others along the way, and help shape how we do things – not just keep up with them.
Responsibilities
- Lead on corporate legal work including M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and group restructures
- Support multi‑jurisdictional corporate activity across a varied and global portfolio
- Partner closely with teams across investments, tax, brand and loyalty to get the right structures in place
- Manage legal aspects of transactions end‑to‑end, including external counsel where needed
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, balancing risk with commercial opportunity
- Guide and support more junior members of the legal team
- Get involved beyond “pure corporate” – from new ventures to wider business initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong grounding in corporate law, ideally trained in private practice with high‑quality experience
- Experience advising on corporate transactions like acquisitions, investments and joint ventures
- Exposure to international businesses and multi‑jurisdictional structures
- A proactive, sleeves‑rolled‑up mindset – happy to get stuck into whatever comes your way
- Confidence to work with senior stakeholders and bring clear, practical advice
- Flexibility, resilience and a calm head when juggling competing priorities
Role Details
- Role type: Contract (15–16 months)
- Location: London office 2 days per week & home space
- Salary: Competitive plus bonus
