Responsibilities
- Own the integrity of financial records and reporting for the companies in your remit, ensuring everything is complete, accurate and compliant.
- Lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis and commentary for senior management.
- Take care of external reporting and statutory compliance, including VAT returns, ONS surveys and other filings.
- Prepare statutory accounts and lead the year-end audit process, working directly with external auditors and preparing technical accounting papers.
- Build and improve processes across recharges, transfer pricing, fixed assets, depreciation and capitalisation.
- Act as the finance voice on system and AI-related projects, helping to improve data integrity, reporting efficiency and system functionality.
- Prepare board papers, support cash flow and budget analysis, and engage in projects as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- A recognised accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA or equivalent), with 2+ years post-qualified experience and previous industry experience.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audit processes, including technical accounting conversations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and Companies Act requirements, with the confidence to work through complex issues.
- Solid operational accounting experience, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts.
- A clear, confident communication style, with the ability to build trust and credibility across different teams.
- Excellent organisation and project management skills, and curiosity for automation, AI and smarter ways of working.
