Our Team
As part of the wider Finance Management Reporting team, the Business Banking Finance operations team is integral to delivering granular management reporting to key stakeholders to support business strategies, targets and objectives. This role also involves statutory accounts production, engagement in the audit process and the completion of regulatory returns for relevant areas. It therefore requires technical knowledge, practical systems ability and communication skills.
What you’ll be doing
- Process financial journals accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Execute financial controls to maintain data integrity and mitigate risk across financial operations.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Conduct balance sheet substantiations, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Maintain business process and control documentation for product areas.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for review by senior team members.
- Assist in enhancing reporting processes by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
We need you to have
- Qualified or part qualified ACCA or CA membership (or equivalent).
- Relevant financial services industry experience.
- Experience in preparing and posting journal entries, and in performing reconciliations.
- Strong excel skills and experience using Finance Ledgers (ideally Oracle and Kapiti).
It’s a bonus if you have but not essential
- Thorough understanding of business processes, controls and audit trail requirements.
- The ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
