Overview
You’ll be working for Property Risk, responsible for assessing and managing the risks associated with properties used as mortgage security. We ensure lending decisions are supported by accurate property data, appropriate valuations, and robust risk policies.
Responsibilities
- The team works closely with valuers, third‑party data providers, and internal stakeholders to review property characteristics, market conditions, and potential risks such as fire safety issues, environmental factors, or marketability concerns.
- We maintain and oversee valuation policies, guidance, and quality assurance processes to ensure consistent and compliant decision‑making.
- Additionally, we use data and technology – including our Property Risk Hub rule‑based decision engine and management information – to automate and enhance property assessments and improve efficiency.
Your role will be important in protecting the Society by ensuring properties are suitable as lending security and align with the society’s risk appetite.
Working Conditions
We consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. The working hours per week for this role can be between 28 and 35 hours. You’ll spend at least two days per week, or if part‑time, 40% of your working time, based at either our Bournemouth, Swindon, or Northampton office.
