This role sits at the heart of the Fibre Up programme and is all about protecting build quality and future proofing our network as we upgrade millions of premises to XGS PON. As a Senior Quality Designer, you will champion a build right first time approach, ensuring that only robust, compliant and efficient designs progress into build. You will combine hands on technical checking with broader design assurance, working closely with design partners, build teams and senior stakeholders. You will identify and resolve technical risks early, support continuous improvement and play a key role in making our delivery predictable, efficient and ready for the future.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
- Proven experience in telecoms network design
- Strong knowledge of FTTH or PON network design principles
- Experience producing and assuring accurate design documentation under pressure
- Hands on experience using AutoCAD or GIS tools
- A solid understanding of CDM regulations and designer obligations
- Knowledge of VMO2 network topology and regional design variations
- Experience supporting build teams with complex field based technical challenges
- Confidence presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working
