As Legal Counsel FTC within the General Counsel's Office, you will join the Legal Procurement Team at a time of significant transformation, supporting complex commercial and procurement activity that underpins the business’s most high‑profile and future‑facing initiatives. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity, with scope for extension, offering exposure to major programmes across O2 Business and the wider organization. Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel or Head of Legal, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal support across a broad range of procurement and transactional matters, working closely with stakeholders across Virgin Media O2, shareholders, and external advisers to get deals done and support their successful implementation within a fast‑moving, regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders across Virgin Media O2, shareholders, and external advisers, helping to get deals done and supporting successful implementation.
- Draft and negotiate transaction documents and complex commercial arrangements (e.g., Master Service Agreements).
- Provide legal advice across a range of procurement and transactional matters.
- Manage multiple workstreams and deliver on tight deadlines while collaborating with specialist teams.
- Communicate effectively to mid‑ and senior‑level audiences, presenting and advising on commercial matters.
Qualifications and Experience
- Junior commercial lawyer (qualified solicitor or barrister) with several years of experience in corporate and commercial matters.
- Agile communicator with excellent drafting skills.
- Diplomatic and articulate, able to adapt communication style to stakeholders.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and advising on transaction documents and complex commercial arrangements.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to build relationships across functions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, regulated commercial environment, managing uncertainty and risk.
- Team player who can drive projects and workstreams to successful conclusion.
- Resilient, able to manage large volumes of work under severe time pressures.
