Here at Virgin Media O2 we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated Programme Lead to join us on an initial 12 month fixed term contract basis! This role sits within Delivery which is responsible for the end-to-end planning, governance, and execution of all demand, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. This includes developing and maintaining a coordinated roadmap, managing delivery across multiple partners and internal PMOs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and providing senior oversight and leadership. The function focuses on facilitating right-sized delivery, promoting continuous improvement, and driving the realisation of business outcomes through effective stakeholder engagement and risk management.
Delivery is split into Cross-Functional Engagement, Delivery Office and Portfolio & Programme Delivery. This role sits with the Portfolio & Programme Delivery division, which is accountable for:
- Providing senior, strategic oversight to effectively deliver Strategic Programmes, providing VM02 with the required control, focus and innate business understanding to effectively manage risk and deliver critical strategic outcomes.
- Overseeing the effective delivery of work across portfolios, from demand creation through delivery, providing a holistic understanding of the business and delivery programmes.
- Governing and managing projects out of scope of P7, ensuring solutions are integrated, risks are managed effectively, and delivery outcomes are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading large, strategic programmes with end-to-end accountability across design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Strong programme governance expertise, including business case development, risk/issue management, milestone planning and financial/resource oversight.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes, including senior sponsors, cross-functional teams, and external partners/suppliers.
- Track record of delivering business outcomes in a multi-vendor environment, driving alignment, interdependency management and 'one team' ways of working.
- Strong problem-solving capability, able to anticipate, identify and resolve delivery risks with clarity and decisiveness.
- Experience operating within structured portfolio or PMO environments, using reporting, KPIs, and governance frameworks to assure delivery performance.
