The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.
This role sits at the centre of how colleagues experience our organisation. It leads our policy framework, strengthens Employee Voice and builds constructive, solutions-focused relationships with recognised trade unions. By designing policies and ER/IR practices that are fair, inclusive, transparent and accessible, the role helps create a workplace where everyone feels they belong. It serves as the organisational expert on policy and employee experience standards, ensuring colleagues and leaders have clarity, confidence and trusted guidance.
Working cross-functionally with Legal, People Partners, People Services, Operations, L&D, Reward and our DE&I teams, this role ensures our approach to policy, consultation and industrial relations is consistent, modern and aligned to our values. It uses insight and responsible AI to elevate policy quality, improve accessibility and surface workforce themes that drive meaningful action. Ultimately, the role enables strong relationships, stable industrial outcomes and a best-in-class, transparent policy experience that supports colleague voice and organisational performance.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing and harmonising People Policies.
- Experience managing ER related change/transformation activity.
- Experience improving people processes in collaboration with People Services and Systems.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to challenge the status quo with integrity.
- Proven ability to create equitable, inclusive and accessible policies.
- Strong collaborator with People Partners and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with data analytics and comfortable using AI safely and effectively.
- Solid understanding of UK employment law and ER/IR practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience; CIPD Level 5+ preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing development in ER/IR, inclusion and AI literacy.
