We have a new role for a Core Voice Services Test Analyst to join our Core Engineering team based from our Slough Test-Lab. The Core Voice Services Test Analyst is responsible for supporting the upgrades into VMO2 Core Test-Lab. Co-ordinating with the vendor to ensure the provision of documentation and software into the lab is consistent. The role involves validating software delivery through testing, ensuring dependable delivery into live network. Working to ensuring the stability of the test environment as well as supporting fault tracking with the wider Core Voice team.

Key responsibilities

  • To witness or review Supplier Quality Acceptance Testing as appropriate. Providing support to review vendor Release Notes and MOPs.
  • Planning, executing and recording Element Acceptance Testing within the test environment, or on a single element in the live network. Support production of Test Strategy, creating Test Cases exiting with TER.
  • Providing support to arrange, execute and record the FOA (First Office Application) of a release into the live network. Coordinating with PM or operations as required to ensure CRQ and all in place to proceed.
  • To perform build, support and maintenance activities on the VMO2 Test-Bed Circuit Core model, including interfaces and data build.
  • Raising faults into vendors fault tracking system, tracking these and supporting where able to resolution.
  • Attending, contributing and providing support to Vendor Problem Review Meetings (PRMs).

What you’ll need

  • A good understanding and appreciation for the cellular networks and networking principles (IMS, 5G, 4G, UMTS, GSM, IMS) including protocols and services especially MTAS, CSCF, PCRF.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of network, signalling & protocol monitoring and management tools (Empirix).
  • Investigating issues/faults during testing phases and support these through to resolution.
  • Analytical skills and problem solving are needed to understand and progress fault analysis with support from senior team members.
  • Good record in production of accurate and complete technical requirements specifications.
