As an Airtime Finance Expert, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and insight behind one of Tesco Mobile’s most significant revenue streams. Joining our Accounting Chapter within Financial Control, you’ll take ownership of airtime revenue and margin accounting, helping to shape reporting, strengthen controls and support strategic decision-making across the business. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a highly visible role while contributing to the ongoing evolution of our finance operating model.

Working across a broad range of stakeholders, you’ll combine strong accounting knowledge with a passion for continuous improvement. From revenue recognition and bad debt accounting to audit delivery, VAT considerations and process optimisation, you’ll help drive financial excellence while embracing new technologies and modern ways of working. The must haves:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 revenue accounting and IFRS 9 bad debt/impairment accounting.
  • Experience designing financial processes, controls and risk frameworks, including implementing process or platform changes.
  • Proven experience working with statutory auditors and delivering audit-ready documentation and evidence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate large datasets and translate findings into accurate accounting.

The other stuff we are looking for:

  • Telecoms experience across billing, usage data, mediation, rating or revenue assurance.
  • Practical VAT experience relating to telecoms, including roaming and bad debt considerations.
  • Exposure to Oracle ERP, FloQast or similar financial control and compliance tools.
  • Experience supporting systems migrations, testing or complex financial data flow changes.
  • Skills in Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks or process automation tools.
