The Accounting, Reporting & Control team are responsible for the integrity of the reported financial results of Virgin Media O2 (VMO2). We provide clarity, insight and advice to a varied list of internal stakeholders and external shareholders.

The importance of the role performed by the team is significant, ensuring accuracy and compliance across each of the reporting & accounting requirements of VMO2, while focusing on simplification and optimisation of processes across a changing organisation. This role would support the existing Finance and Reporting functions to craft and implement system, process and control requirements for two new areas of revenue billing in 360 & associated financial reporting.

Duties include:

  • Identifying key risks in new processes, working collaboratively with the Accounting Control team on design and implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate those risks as well as contributing to the development of financial information.
  • Working with third parties on the data contained in their databases and how Finance can take advantage of that data and use it to satisfy reporting requirements.
  • Assisting with investigations, documentation of requirements and other tasks relating to the project, supervising and managing project actions and bringing together progress reporting, as well as assisting SMEs with project admin such as raising Change Requests and providing representation on project calls.

The must haves:

  • Qualified accountant with full understanding of accounting principles, practical application and SOX control frameworks.
  • Project management in Finance/IT migration/implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of databases; SQL, GCP, Micro strategy a plus.
