Data Scientists play an important role in developing predictive models, analysing complex datasets, and supporting the delivery of data‑driven products that drive value across the business. This role sits within our fraud and credit risk domain, where you will help build and maintain models that detect fraud, assess customer risk, and strengthen decision‑making for critical business processes. This is an excellent opportunity for early‑career data scientists — including MSc/PhD graduates — to gain hands‑on experience building production‑grade models in a fast‑moving, high‑impact environment. You will work as part of a high‑performing data science & insight team, contributing to the wider modelling ecosystem and supporting the ongoing development of analytical capabilities across Virgin Media.

The must haves:

  • Strong academic background in a STEM field (MSc or PhD preferred) or 1-2 years of commercial data science experience
  • Experience applying ML techniques to real‑world datasets
  • Practical experience with SQL and Python (numpy, pandas, scikit‑learn, matplotlib, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a shipping/iterative product environment and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Solid grounding in statistics, probability, and core machine learning concepts

The other stuff we are looking for:

  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable exploring new methodologies and technologies
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation
