We have a great new role for a Data Access Designer to join our Data Core Design and Test team. This team owns the systems that connect our 5G, 4G, and 3/2G mobile data customers to their web services and content.

The Data Access designer is responsible for the design of the DAB-NG platform which is a strategic Cloud based Content filtering and data optimisation platform.

Working with business stakeholders, to Design and Integrate the DAB-NG-NG platform with other data platforms in the network, discussing the details with IP and infrastructure design teams, test/support teams and external suppliers generate efficient and accurate solutions, that are thoroughly tested and delivered into service giving VMO2 customers the best possible service.

The key focus of this position is to ensure the Data Access Filtering and Optimisation platform (DAB-NG) provides highly reliable, accurate and detailed parental control solutions meeting regulatory requirements along with a high-performance data optimisation solution that is regularly adapted to meet the needs of an evolving network. The role will be strongly focussed on the detail designs needed for upcoming features and capacity forecasts to ensure that the platform can designed, tested and build ahead of demand and maintain and enhance the customer experience.

The must haves

  • Significant experience in Mobile Data Network disciplines with design experience
  • Understanding of the mobile data core network and the technologies that surround it
  • Detailed knowledge of mobile data transport technologies and protocols including TCP, UDP and QUIC and the optimisation
  • Awareness of the range of applications, services and devices that customers use in the mobile data network and the impact of the network on their performance.
  • An understanding of virtualisation, including cloud native CNF and VNF platform architecture and deployment
  • An understanding of policies and functions as they are deployed in deep packet inspection, content filtering and data optimisation

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Working Knowledge of the evolving 5G SA networks and standards
  • Experience with applying proven delivery methodologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels within the business.
  • Ability to Influence business & operation teams and stakeholders
