Responsibilities
- Design and steer designs for signalling-related projects, directing project teams to ensure optimal delivery outcomes.
- Signalling Design team drives design changes across all impacted network functions to ensure the design is customer-centric, meets customer requirements, and is robust.
- Design and configuration of Ericsson IP-STP and DSC signalling products; work independently and escalate as needed.
- Produce high and low level design documents, including capacity dimensioning and modelling, with attention to surrounding network elements; ensure designs meet fraud and security requirements; liaise with vendors and TSA as required.
- Support service designs on the Voice Core network (IP STP, DSC - DRA, DEA - and IMS/legacy core voice network nodes).
- Develop automated test capabilities for 5GSA and legacy nodes; collaborate with Core Test team to automate call-flow testing.
Qualifications
- Ericsson IP-STP design and configuration experience.
- Ericsson DSC design and configuration experience.
- Working knowledge of command structure and Ericsson documentation for both platforms.
- Experience of cellular networks (2G, 3G, 4G, IMS), networking principles, and signalling systems/protocols (SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter, MAP).
- Understanding of technology standards, traffic, switching, and radio theory/principles.
- Strong analytical skills, practical judgement, ability to navigate complex requirements to reach a satisfactory business solution.
