Summary

As a Business Response Engineer, you’ll be a key part of our 24/7 Wholesale Operations (NOC) team, providing technical support to our managed service clients. You\'ll work within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to keep things running efficiently across our Business Enterprise and Wholesale networks. Be at the heart of our operations—monitoring network infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and making critical changes that keep our services outstanding. While the role is primarily NOC-to-NOC facing, you\'ll also work closely with field engineers, customers, and internal teams to ensure end-to-end support from our customer solutions right through to our network and platform capabilities. With responsibility for supporting over 15,000 managed service customers, you’ll bring a proactive mentality and a passion for problem-solving to deliver high-quality technical service and support—day in, day out.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network infrastructure and resolve technical issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Provide 24/7 NOC / wholesale operations support to managed service clients.
  • Collaborate with field engineers, customers, and internal teams to ensure end-to-end service delivery.
  • Implement critical changes to maintain service quality across WAN, LAN, Fibre Optic and Data Centre environments.
  • Operate in a high-demand, remote team with strong prioritisation capabilities.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Able to work on a 24/7 hybrid shift rotation.
  • Demonstrated experience using SNMP-based network monitoring systems (e.g., IBM Netcool).
  • Knowledge of general internetworking, TCP/IP principles; familiarity with Infinera / Ciena Transmode systems.
  • Previous experience in a NOC or managed services environment.
  • Experience supporting service improvement initiatives, focusing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 architectures.
  • Solid knowledge of network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, Fibre Optic and Data Centre environments.
  • Practical understanding of Layer 1 Fibre Optic and Layer 2 switching, and related WAN technologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-demand remote team and fast-paced environment; strong prioritisation skills.
