The Platform Technical Lead provides handsâon technical leadership to support the operational design of the platform. The role owns the technical integrity of platforms, supporting projects across the lifecycle to ensure platforms are delivered in line with technical standards and approved designs, acting as the key dayâtoâday interface with partners.
This role sits within Technology & Platforms, which defines and maintains the strategy and roadmap for all core technology platforms. The function ensures platforms are robust, scalable, costâeffective, and aligned with the overall business strategy.
Division: Digital Workplace â accountable for delivering and evolving technology tools and services that enable secure, collaborative, and productive working environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for platform design and operational integrity.
- Ensure projects comply with platform technical standards and approved designs.
- Act as key dayâtoâday interface with partner teams.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex IAM incidents and platform failures.
Must Have Qualifications (Technical Skills)
- Deep technical expertise in Identity & Access Management (SSO, MFA, directory services, identity federation, provisioning, privileged access).
- Strong handsâon knowledge of Okta and/or Entra ID, including enterprise application integration and authentication flows.
- Experience with identity lifecycle tooling (e.g. MyIdentity, One Identity, MIM).
- Solid understanding of leastâprivilege access models, RBAC/ABAC, and privileged access patterns.
- Strong grounding in Zero Trust identity principles, conditional access, and riskâbased authentication.
- Proven experience as the technical escalation point for IAM incidents and platform failures.
- Experience operating in a partnerâdelivered IAM model, providing technical direction, assurance, and challenge rather than handsâon administration.
- Strong understanding of IAM security and compliance controls (SOX, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, audit evidence requirements).
- Ability to translate complex IAM technical issues into clear impacts, risks, and recommendations for nonâtechnical stakeholders.

- Strong communication skills, able to engage confidently with Security, Architecture, Compliance, and senior technical stakeholders.
