This Senior HR Change Partner role sits at the heart of how the organisation navigates transformation, acting as a trusted expert on Employee Relations and large-scale change delivery. As a senior advisor to the People and Transformation function, it partners closely with Business Leaders, People Partners, Org Design and Centres of Excellence to shape, challenge and strengthen strategic change plans from early scoping through to delivery. Bringing deep ER and change expertise, the role ensures transformation activity is commercially sound, legally robust and values-led, proactively identifying risks and opportunities across both unionised and non-unionised environments. It plays a pivotal role in embedding a culture where well-planned, inclusive change is the norm and where leaders confidently lead change in line with organisational purpose and values.

Through leading complex, high-impact transformation programmes, this Senior HR Change Partner translates strategy into practical, sustainable delivery that sticks. It drives consistency, effectiveness and long-term capability by designing best-in-class people change processes, governance, tools and roadmaps; coaching leaders; and leading and developing high-performing change teams. As a visible role model for inclusion and collaboration, it nurtures future people talent, builds organisational confidence in change, and ensures employee voice and experience are central throughout. In doing so, it helps the organisation unlock challenges, tell a compelling change story, and deliver lasting outcomes that support both business performance and employee success.

Must Haves

  • Proven ability to develop clear, evidence-based recommendations for change approaches that enable effective business operation while balancing risk.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence key business decisions through strong knowledge, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Employee Relations and Industrial Relations frameworks, people policies and processes, and current best practice in commercially sound employment practices.
  • Experience delivering results in complex, matrix organisations across both unionised and non-unionised environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, meet demanding timelines and maintain rigorous follow-up.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, particularly in relation to organisational change and ER.
  • Experience working effectively with employee representatives, consultation forums and trade unions.
  • Full CIPD membership and qualification (or equivalent recognised business qualification).

Additional Desired Experience

  • Experience of working within an agile environment, with a foundational understanding of agile ways of working and a willingness to continue learning and developing in this area.
  • Demonstrated capability in talent management, including selecting, developing, optimising and retaining diverse talent to achieve individual, team and organisational objectives.
