We have a great new role for a FinOps Lead to join the Core Engineering function. This leadership position spans all cloud operations across the CTO and CIO and focuses on making Virgin Media O2 more intentional, transparent and sustainable in its cloud technology investment. As the FinOps Lead, you will be at the heart of driving a cost‑conscious culture, ensuring that value, efficiency and financial accountability are embedded into how we design, build and run our platforms. You will work closely with Finance, Product and Engineering leaders to shape and mature our FinOps operating model across the business, leading initiatives that reduce waste, improve unit economics and automate financial reporting while acting as a trusted advisor to teams across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, cloud architecture or cloud consulting
- Hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Strong understanding of cloud cost optimisation strategies and financial governance
- Experience using cloud cost management tools such as Cloudability or CloudHealth
- Experience working with SaaS infrastructure economics
- Exposure to GCP BigQuery
- Experience driving cost‑aware behaviours and shift‑left practices within engineering teams
- FinOps Certified Practitioner qualification
- Experience contributing to cloud cost KPIs, dashboards and maturity assessments
