The predicted salary is between 28350 - 34650 Β£ per year.

This role will be based in our Reading office 2 days per week. We're excited to offer a new opportunity for an Activate Provisioning Engineer! In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting Virgin Media O2 Business by delivering high-quality provisioning for both new and existing Ethernet services. This includes managing moves, adds, changes, ceases, and testing provisioned solutions to ensure they meet predefined Quality of Service standards.

You'll be responsible for carrying out a range of provisioning activities - from routine tasks to more complex network configurations - while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of network records and systems. Working to agreed standards and conventions, you'll help ensure seamless service delivery and a consistently high level of performance across the network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out testing of end-to-end customer Ethernet circuits in collaboration with field support engineers
  • Escalate technical issues in line with set procedures
  • Ensuring all local works instructions are kept up to date in line with current provisioning standards as governed by core engineering groups
  • Ad-hoc reporting as required

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • Experience of working in a Layer 2 Networking operational environment
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 Communications and Networking technologies including LAN, WAN principles
  • Computer literacy skills combined with a sound working knowledge of current computer software packages (Microsoft Word and Excel as a minimum)
  • Experience and appreciation of working in a customer focused environment
  • High degree of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact at all levels
  • Proven ability to work to agreed project deadlines and achieve specific goals that incorporate quality standards

  • Experience of Alcatel, Ciena, and Ethernet technology
  • Experience of Cisco Routing & Switching technology would be an advantage
  • Proven ability to manage fluctuating workloads effectively and optimise available resources
  • Good teamworking skills and the ability to work unsupervised
