We have a couple of new role opportunities for Senior Devops Engineers to join our Automation and Orchestration (AnO) team within Core Applications & Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.

at VMO2 is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a highly collaborative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will be instrumental in automating processes, streamlining infrastructure delivery, and building scalable, cost-effective solutions.

You\’ll work closely with senior leadership to shape and support the overall infrastructure strategy, influence decision-making, and ensure the successful execution of initiatives aligned with business goals. You’ll be a key contributor in planning, automation, and delivery across our Red Hat and VMWare ecosystems, helping to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Role responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality DevOps solutions that automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment across Red Hat-based environments.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python.
  • Lead and support CI/CD pipeline development and automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and other open-source technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of infrastructure strategies and DevOps roadmaps.
  • Converting servers and maintaining containers, on-prem and in cloud environments.
  • Promote standardization, scalability, and efficiency across on-premise virtualization platforms including VMWare.

The must haves

  • Proven experience in DevOps engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure automation and orchestration.
  • Deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or alternate type of Linux) systems and VMWare virtualized environments.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience in developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Podman, OpenShift, Cloud Run).

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, system administration, and DevOps practices in hybrid cloud or on-premise setups.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Comfortable working in Agile teams, contributing to continuous integration, delivery, and improvement processes.
