The SD-WAN and Security Lead is accountable for defining, owning, and executing the secure networking product strategy across the organisation’s fixed connectivity portfolio. This is a lead role within the fixed connectivity product team with a strong evangelisation and growth focus, responsible for driving adoption, commercial performance, and market relevance of secure connectivity services across mid-market, enterprise, and public-sector customers. The role holder will set the strategic vision, secure alignment across the business, and lead delivery through multiple supporting functions, while building and developing a high-performing product management team.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities
- Define, own, and champion the secure connectivity vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap
- Act as the senior evangelist for secure networking propositions across sales, customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Drive product adoption, penetration, and revenue growth through compelling value propositions and effective go-to-market execution
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept and business case through launch, in-life optimisation, and retirement
- Lead rationalisation of legacy products, defining clear and commercially compelling migration paths to next-generation standardised services
- Provide senior product authority and decision-making across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Line manage, coach, and develop up to four Product Managers
- Support priority sales opportunities, customer briefings, and strategic bids as a subject-matter expert
The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:
- Significant experience in product leadership roles within a UK telco, MSP, or managed network services provider
- Strong understanding of secure connectivity and networking services, including SD-WAN, SASE & SSE aligned services, managed firewalls, and secure access
- Proven ability to drive product adoption and growth through evangelisation and stakeholder influence
- Strong commercial acumen including pricing, margin management, and investment business case development
- Experience leading and developing product managers in matrixed organisations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical propositions clearly
The other stuff we are looking for
- Experience operating in a sales-led, growth-oriented product environment, with direct involvement in pipeline acceleration, strategic bids, or executive-level customer engagements
- Prior accountability for portfolio transformation, including migration from legacy network or security services to next-generation, software-defined or cloud-delivered propositions
- Exposure to public sector or regulated industry connectivity and security requirements, including frameworks, accreditations, or compliance-driven buying behaviours
- Experience working with technology vendor ecosystems (e.g. security, networking, cloud providers), including joint roadmapping, commercial negotiations, and co-marketing initiatives
- Familiarity with modern product operating models, such as agile or outcome-based product management, portfolio governance, or scaled delivery frameworks
- Understanding of network automation, orchestration, and platform-based service delivery models and how these can enable scalable, repeatable secure connectivity services
- Experience supporting or influencing go-to-market strategy, including sales enablement, value proposition development, launch planning, and in-life performance optimisation
- Comfortable representing the organisation externally at customer forums, industry events, or partner engagements as a credible subject-matter expert and product advocate
