We’re recruiting for a Principal Mobile Data Services (MDS) Engineer to provide outstanding 3rd Line Technical Support. In this role you’ll lead, coordinate, manage and investigate faults escalated to the MDS group, providing technical support for Packet Core GPRS/3G/4G, 5G + PCRF + DAB.
Key accountabilities include:
- Providing third level support for the NFVI/Cloud Container Infrastructure, Packet core applications and PCF/PCRF
- Lead, coordinate, manage and investigate faults escalated to the MDS group
- Ensuring all processes and procedures are documented and controlled in accordance with quality processes.
- Safeguarding the operational network and the customer experience at all times
Our engineers provide support on a 24-hour on call rota basis, therefore a flexible approach to working hours is required.
The must haves:
- Extensive experience actively supporting end to end systems infrastructure in a Telecommunications environment
- Packet Core Expertise
- PCRF/PCF (Cloud Native) knowledge
- Understanding of end to end 4G/5G call flows
- Extensive experience analysing and troubleshooting service, application and network performance issues for business critical systems
- Basic IP and network knowledge
- NFV/NFVI/Cloud Container Infrastructure Environment Knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot complex Packet call flows
The other stuff we are looking for:
- Ability to work under pressure and provide clear and concise instructions and timely reports
- Experience supporting critical applications
- Grasp of telecommunications systems from an end-to-end perspective
- Familiarity with OpenStack and Kubernetes
