We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our BI & Analytics pillar within the Data Democratisation organisation at Virgin Media O2 as the Head of BI & Analytics. Reporting to the Director of BI & Analytics, this role will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of data strategies, and delivering actionable insights to support business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, analytics, and data management, as well as proven leadership experience in building and leading high-performing teams.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Extensive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data strategy roles, including at senior leadership positions within large, matrixed organisations. Proven track record of leading high-impact, enterprise-level data initiatives that demonstrably delivered commercial value.
  • Hands-on expertise in enterprise-grade BI and analytics tools, specifically Tableau, dbt, SQL, and modern cloud-based data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery). Able to guide architectural decisions and challenge technical teams when needed.
  • Led the end-to-end delivery of a business-wide data strategy, including roadmap development, stakeholder alignment, and implementation of governance frameworks that scale across multiple domains.
  • Proven ability to build and lead multidisciplinary BI teams (analytics, reporting, data engineering) of 10+ people, with a track record of attracting top talent, setting high performance standards, and creating a strong delivery culture.
  • Executive-level stakeholder management experience, with the ability to influence C-suite leaders, translate complex data into actionable insight, and drive strategic outcomes through data.

  • Deep commercial acumen – understands how data supports growth, efficiency, and innovation, with experience in embedding analytics into decision-making processes across product, digital, commercial, or customer functions.
  • Change agent mindset, comfortable working in ambiguity and leading teams through transformation and modernisation, including data democratisation and self-serve analytics adoption.
