We have a couple of exciting opportunities for Enterprise Architects to join our Technology Transformation Function within CTO. We are looking for candidates with experience working within Telecommunications and breadth of experience covering Networks (Fixed/Mobile), IT, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Security and Data. As an Enterprise Transformation Architect, you’ll lead the design of future-ready platforms, shaping architecture that turns strategy into real-world outcomes. You’ll drive clarity across complex landscapes guiding product, platform, and data initiatives from concept to commercialisation. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where architecture isn’t just a blueprint it’s a lever for speed, scalability, and simplification.
You’ll define and evolve high-level designs, steer transformation programmes, and unblock delivery when needed all while ensuring security, compliance, and reusability stay front and centre. Working across CIO, CTO, and CDO functions, you’ll champion consolidation, modernisation and smart governance to reduce duplication, technical debt, and fragmentation. You’ll also architect the foundations for our biggest technology bets from AI Factory and Digital Twin to Hyperautomation and Intent-Based Orchestration. Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the delivery teams, ensuring the development of scalable, secure, and innovative digital products and platforms.
- Guide product, platform and data initiatives from “concept to commercialisation”.
- Document, define and architect current state, end state and transition state architectures for Products, Platforms and Data Estate in Insights and Performance.
- Create and publish high-level architecture blueprints that address real-world business challenges.
- Ensure the architecture can flex where needed to unblock delivery and maintain momentum.
- Ensure that delivery teams comply with architectural guidance and defined transformation plan (via the appropriate cross CIO / CTO / CDO governance forums).
- Ensure that all products and platforms adhere to the highest security and privacy standards and comply with relevant industry regulations.
- Introduce modern cybersecurity techniques and best practices to our internal data, products and platforms landscape.
The must haves
- A deep understanding of software architecture, system design, and technology stacks relevant to digital network products and platforms.
- Hands-on experience with modern architecture patterns e.g. Microservices, Mesh App and Service Architecture, Event Driven Architecture etc.
- A deep understanding and experience of Telecoms industry specifications and best practices for architecture, data modelling and business processes e.g. TM Forum, Metro Ethernet Forum, IETF, GSMA, Open Broadband etc.
- Hands-on experience with Opensource initiatives, standards and tools e.g. Opensource Telecoms Products (ONAP, ODL, ONOS, Nephio), Open APIs and alternative API standards (GraphQL, gRPC, Async APIs), Apache Product Suite, Linux Product Suite, Opensource Databases etc.
- A very good understanding of Cloud Technologies.
- Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems.
- Familiarity with Telco Cloud (VNF/CNF), Private Cloud, Public Cloud and Hybrid Cloud architecture patterns, tools and services.
- Knowledge of modern cybersecurity principles and best practices to ensure the security of digital products and platforms.
- Understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements, such as GDPR, TSA, ISO etc.
- Deep understanding of Network Programmability including patterns, best practices, pitfalls and challenges.
- Hands-on experience in delivering software solutions on top of programmable networks to plan, build, run and operate networks.
- Deep understanding of network programmability standards e.g. NETCONF, RESTCONF, Yang etc.
The other stuff we are looking for
- A working knowledge of fixed and mobile networking technologies, vendors and solutions – RAN, Core, IP Transport, SDN, DOCIS, XGS PON etc.
- Expertise in Data Architecture best practices including data modelling, data flows and data consumption/production patterns.
- Good knowledge and understanding of building effective data lakes and products in the cloud.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile) and DevSecOps practices to facilitate collaboration and continuous integration and delivery of products, platforms and data.
- Good understanding of DevSecOps platforms available in the market today and how to efficiently use which technologies to drive maximum efficiency in DevSecOps teams.
