As a Construction Coordinator, you will be supporting the Construction and Civils teams in ensuring we get cable into as many customers' houses as possible. At times, we may be unable to pull the cable due to underground problems, necessitating excavation or digging up the footway or road for under and over 3M work streams. It is essential to ensure this work is carried out in accordance with the applications submitted to our Local Authorities. The Construction and Civils teams ensure all reports of this work are handled and distributed to be completed in a timely manner.
Using a catalogue of utility plans, mapping, and costing, the team plans every last detail for our contractors to complete the work on site, ensuring that due diligence and health and safety are adhered to in the field, as well as budget ownership. The team liaises with five national Civils contractors to ensure that blockages and additional plant are completed as requested. You will also respond to customer queries regarding the work required to deliver our services to their property and identify potential opportunities to expand and grow the network.
The must-haves:
- Knowledge and understanding of network drawings and plans.
- Proven record of handling planning meetings with partners to ensure works are kept on track and issues are identified early, with risks mitigated.
- Knowledge and understanding of statutory and street work code of practice.
- Ability to attend the Eagle Court, Birmingham office at least two days a week (must include a Wednesday).
The other stuff we are looking for:
- Experience in managing tasks to budgets.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to convey ideas clearly and logically.
- Delivering a Can-Do attitude in every aspect of the role.
- Ability to prioritise work and perform against tight deadlines.
- A customer-centric background.
