We’re looking for a Director of IT Operations to join our team in London Kings Cross.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with three days in the office and two days working remotely.
We're looking for an experienced and technically credible Director of IT Operations to shape and lead the technology estate that will support Blume through an exciting period of transformation and growth.
As we continue our journey as an independent organisation, you'll play a pivotal role in defining the systems, platforms and operating model needed to support more than 1,000 employees across multiple geographies and time zones.
This is a high-impact leadership role with end-to-end ownership of our internal technology landscape.
You'll create and deliver the strategy for a secure, scalable and well-integrated systems estate, bringing together key platforms including Workday, ERP, Atlassian and Microsoft technologies into a cohesive, future-ready environment.
Working closely with our Managed IT partner, you'll set the vision, standards and roadmap, making key technology and investment decisions while ensuring strong governance, security and operational excellence.
You'll also lead our Digital Employee Experience (DEX) strategy, helping our people access the tools and support they need to do their best work, wherever they are.
What will you be doing?
- Technology Strategy
- Define and deliver Blume's internal technology strategy and roadmap.
- Drive an AI-first, scalable systems architecture for a global business.
- Lead technology investment, consolidation and build-vs-buy decisions.
- Systems Ownership
- Own core business platforms including HCM, ERP, CRM, Microsoft, Atlassian and other enterprise applications.
- Manage the systems roadmap, balancing business needs, cost, risk and technical debt.
- Lead system implementations, upgrades, integrations and vendor relationships.
- Ensure robust data integrity, reporting and governance across the estate.
- Digital Employee Experience
- Lead the DEX strategy, improving how colleagues interact with technology.
- Use data and feedback to drive adoption, performance and productivity improvements.
- Operations, Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems are secure, compliant, resilient and audit-ready.
- Oversee SLAs, service performance, business continuity and operational KPIs.
- Manage technology budgets and drive value for investment.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Own the relationship with the Managed IT provider, ensuring strong service delivery and accountability.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver technology solutions that support growth.
- Act as the escalation point for major incidents impacting business-critical systems.
We tend to look for people with
- Essential: Established leadership experience owning IT Operations, enterprise platforms and technology services across a large-scale business environment.
- Strong track record of defining technology strategy and transforming or consolidating complex systems estates through periods of change and growth.
- Deep understanding of enterprise platforms, including ERP, HCM, collaboration tools, Microsoft technologies, identity and access management, integrations and data governance.
- Experience designing and governing technology landscapes across multi-site, international organisations.
- Expertise in managing outsourced IT service providers, driving performance, governance and accountability against agreed service levels.
- Experience improving Digital Employee Experience (DEX) through the use of data, tooling and user insights.
- Solid knowledge of IT security, compliance, risk management and audit requirements.
- Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, licensing and budgets.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and bridge business and technical teams.
- Desirable Experience delivering large-scale enterprise system migrations, including platforms such as Oracle, Workday, Microsoft and Atlassian.
- Relevant certifications in enterprise platforms or technologies, such as Microsoft 365, Azure or Workday.
