Kick-start your career with us - we're looking for a Graduate Employment Tax Advisor in Leeds/Bradford or London. This role is ideal for graduates with 0-3 years experience wanting to pursue a career in the people aspect of tax & finance. By the end of the programme, you will receive a professional accountancy qualification (CTA or ATT).
Our Employment Tax advisor role sits within the Liberty Blume People Services department. Here, we partner with our clients to directly add value to their business, by reducing their risks, mitigating costs and ensuring their employees have an excellent customer experience. The Employment Tax function straddles the traditional external client facing advisory, with that of practically delivering & implementing projects of an in-house role.
Working closely with Payroll, Reward, Finance & HR teams, the role is varied from ensuring accurate tax withholding on payments to employees, to assessing the tax position & impact of legislative changes that could affect our clients. In short, it’s an ideal place for you to build the skills, knowledge and expertise you need to build your career in a function that is a hybrid of external advisory and internal implementation.
Through formal training and development as well as the breadth of experience you gain on the job, you will be able to develop a wide range of skills including:
- Data analysis and manipulation
- Financial acumen
- Communication
- Experience across multiple systems and applications
By the end of your programme, you’ll also have achieved your Professional Accountancy Qualification (CTA, or ATT). This will be a great kick start to your career in tax or even a broader finance role. We’re looking for people who are serious about learning and growing, particularly within a Finance‑HR environment, and who can take a logical, methodical and proactive approach to work.
We tend to look for people with an advantage but not essential. Past experience of working in a finance function is an advantage but not essential. Part qualified accountant (AAT Level 4, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA etc.) or a graduate (Degree 2.1 or above) who is keen to embark on further study towards a Professional Accounting Qualification. Degrees unrelated to Accounting/Finance accepted. 3 A-Levels (A*-C) (or equivalent) 5 GCSEs at C (or 5) and above, including Maths and English. Strong interest in the people aspect of tax or finance functions. Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint is an advantage but not essential.
