As Door & Luggage Attendant, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our guests, helping to shape their experience from the moment they arrive.

Whether assisting with luggage, offering local recommendations, or simply chatting with guests, you’ll bring warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail to every interaction.

With strong knowledge of our hotel, services, and the surrounding area, you’ll create memorable moments through thoughtful touches and personalised support—ensuring each guest feels genuinely welcomed and well looked after throughout their stay.

The Details

What exactly you will be doing

  • Giving every guest a warm, personalised welcome and being on hand to support them throughout their stay.
  • Helping with luggage in a way that feels smooth, friendly and handled with care.
  • Delivering items to rooms promptly and professionally (a smile included!).
  • Offering valet parking support and ensuring guests enjoy a seamless arrival and departure.
  • Building great knowledge of our hotel—its rooms, facilities, amenities, menus and daily happenings—so you can confidently guide and assist guests.
  • Sharing recommendations on local attractions, events, dining and transport options.
  • Using your initiative and creativity to create memorable, thoughtful touches.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with guests and teammates, always keeping our brand tone of voice in mind.
  • Keeping our spaces tidy, welcoming and guest-ready at all times.
  • Working both independently and as part of a supportive, upbeat team.

What qualities are we looking for?

  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork mindset
  • Great communication and customer service skills
  • Previous serving experience is a plus, but not required

Must-haves

  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United Kingdom
  • Ability to work on-site at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh for every shift
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including on weekends and holidays
