We are looking for a Porter superstar to join our amazing Atmosphere team at Virgin Hotel London Shoreditch!

Your mission: Should you choose to accept it… If you are a neat-freak who loves to clean and ensure that everything is in its right place, then this job is for you. You will be responsible for maintaining Virgin Hotel’s high standards of doing all porter duties. You will also be required to communicate, coordinate and work well with other teammates, managers and guests. In addition, be aware of your surroundings and guest preferences and requests. Follow schedules and supervisor instructions accurately. Most of all, we want you to have FUN since you play a huge role in creating that memorable guest experience!

The Nitty-Gritty: What exactly you will be doing… In helping you understand your role in working for a world class organization, the following is a list of your essential job responsibilities:

  • Support atmosphere staff, by transporting linens, towels, amenities.
  • Provide guest assistance when approached.
  • Report to designated shift in assigned attire.
  • Perform designated duties within time allotted.
  • Use only the designated cleaning chemicals and tools.
  • Report any guest or safety issues to a manager or supervisor.
  • Keep guest information confidential and secure.
  • Turn in all “lost and found” items at the end of the work shift.
  • Responsible for all keys assigned and complies with the key policy established by the company.
  • Comply with security policies of the hotel.
  • Restock supplies as needed.
  • When needed assist with other colleagues with other duties and other responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights.
  • Complete a manager’s request within reason.

What qualities are we looking for? You got skills? If you are able to perform the following, then you have come to the right place…

  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Follow schedules and supervisor instructions accurately.
  • Willing to work as part of a team as needed.
  • Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and wiping.
  • Able to lift up to 12 kg.
  • Able to push/pull up to 25 kg.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights.

Background must-have:

  • Current right to work in the UK.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
