The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, Monday – Friday.

Location: Hybrid remote working, with 3 days a week in our VHQ, Crawley based on operational requirements.

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Product Owner - App to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical strategy and execution for Virgin Atlantic’s mobile app platforms supporting both flights and holidays experiences, “the world of Virgin Atlantic in your pocket”. You will ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and user-friendly mobile solutions that delight customers and enhance the Virgin Atlantic brand. Collaborating with cross-functional teams both onsite and offshore, you will balance the needs of mobile app architecture, platform integration, and user-centric design to deliver seamless and innovative customer experiences. You will act as the bridge between mobile app development and business goals, owning the app platform roadmap, enabling technologies, and integrations.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Define and manage the app platform roadmap, aligning it with the organisation’s business objectives.
  • Ensure robust mobile app architecture and infrastructure to support evolving digital products and services.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and partners to design scalable, high-performing mobile solutions.
  • Lead integration efforts to unify mobile app platforms with backend systems for a seamless customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain a clear mobile app technical product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage and prioritize a backlog of app-specific technical and functional requirements to maximize customer and business value.
  • Optimise app-specific features and functionality to ensure exceptional performance and user experience.
  • Define and monitor mobile app performance KPIs, including load times, crash rates, and app store ratings.
  • Generate regular reports to communicate app development progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison between mobile app development teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Facilitate communication to ensure alignment on app product goals, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Proficient in app development concepts, including native (iOS, Android), hybrid frameworks, and associated app store processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Experience in defining and tracking mobile-specific metrics such as app performance, crash rates, and customer retention.
