In a nutshell
As a Certifying Engineer within Cabin Maintenance, you’ll be trusted to keep our aircraft interiors operating to the highest standards of safety, reliability and presentation. You’ll lead small teams, certify maintenance activity in line with regulatory and Virgin Atlantic requirements, and act as a key point of contact between Technical Control and operational teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your judgement, technical expertise and commitment to excellence directly influence on‑time performance, safety compliance and the customer experience.
Day to day
- Certify allocated cabin maintenance tasks in line with CAA regulations and Virgin Atlantic procedures
- Lead and supervise small teams, including Cabin Technicians and third‑party suppliers, to deliver safe and timely maintenance
- Act as the focal communication point between the team, Technical Control and relevant stakeholders
- Ensure accurate and compliant task certification and technical record completion within e‑MRO and associated systems
- Deliver technically clean, safe and reliable aircraft, supporting On‑Time Performance and technical standards
- Champion efficient working practices and contribute to CMS briefings and operational updates
- Support performance management and development conversations within your team
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring full adherence to Engineering, Health & Safety and airport regulations
About you
- Hold a valid Aircraft Maintenance Licence with relevant type ratings
- Bring light and/or heavy maintenance experience, ideally within a commercial aviation environment
- Have completed a recognised Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship or hold equivalent operational aviation experience
- Demonstrate recent experience within Aeronautical Engineering
- Possess strong knowledge of airworthiness standards and regulatory compliance
- Are confident supervising small teams and fostering accountability and engagement
- Communicate clearly and professionally across technical and operational stakeholders
- Have a working knowledge of relevant engineering IT systems
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Take pride in delivering high standards, working safely, and continuously improving how things are done
