As a Manager – Outsourced Base Maintenance Check, you’ll lead the delivery of complex aircraft maintenance checks across our international MRO network, acting as Virgin Atlantic’s representative on-site. You’ll be at the centre of high‑profile maintenance inputs, trusted to make critical decisions, lead skilled teams, and ensure every aircraft is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards. From Europe to Asia and beyond, no two projects are the same. This role blends technical expertise, leadership, and international exposure, giving you the chance to influence outcomes, build strong global relationships, and truly represent the Virgin Atlantic brand wherever we operate.
Day to day:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of aircraft maintenance checks
- Represent Virgin Atlantic on-site at global MRO locations
- Manage and lead small engineering teams
- Deliver projects to time, cost and quality targets
- Manage third party supplier relationships and compliance
- Oversee budgets, reporting and cost control
- Manage risks and resolve operational challenges
About you:
Do you hold a Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (B1 or B2)? Do you hold an Aeronautical degree or equivalent? Are you experienced within MRO or outsourced base maintenance environments? Then this could be the role for you! Alongside the above, we’re looking for the following:
- Proven leadership within live aircraft maintenance operations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and supplier management experience
- Knowledge of CAA, EASA and regulatory frameworks
- Previous experience as a Technical Representative
- Experience delivering international maintenance checks
