In a nutshell, at Virgin Atlantic, we don’t just fly aircraft — we manage world-class assets with precision, expertise and care. We’re looking for an experienced Aircraft Structures Engineer to join our Aircraft Asset Management team, playing a critical role in aircraft acquisitions and End of Lease (EOL) returns. This is a high-impact position where you’ll combine deep technical expertise with stakeholder influence, ensuring our aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and commercial performance.
Day to day, you’ll act as the structures specialist for aircraft entering and leaving the fleet, ensuring all structural integrity, documentation and regulatory requirements are fully met.
- Lead the technical review of structural repairs, modifications and records, ensuring compliance with CAA/EASA regulations and lease return conditions.
- Provide on-site technical support during End of Lease maintenance inputs at MRO facilities worldwide.
- Act as the technical representative for Virgin Atlantic Engineering with lessors and third-party maintenance organisations.
- Manage and resolve lessor findings (“pick-ups”), negotiating practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Support aircraft acquisitions and redeliveries, ensuring structural requirements are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and enhance audit processes to minimise EOL findings and improve efficiency.
- Build strong relationships across Engineering, Fleet Planning, Finance and external partners.
About you: You’re a detail-driven and commercially aware structures expert who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Degree/HND in Engineering (or equivalent) or CAA/EASA B1 Licence.
- Proven experience in aircraft structures, design, repair or airline engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of CAA/EASA Part M, Part 21, and airworthiness requirements.
- Working familiarity with Airbus/Boeing SRMs and structural documentation.
- Experience in Aircraft Asset Management and End of Lease activities is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
