In a nutshell
This role is all about making sure the systems that power our Engineering, Planning and Supply Chain teams truly work for the people who rely on them every day. As Product Owner for eMRO & Planning Control, you’ll own the direction and evolution of our Trax eMRO and Planning Control systems, shaping roadmaps, unlocking capability and ensuring everything we deliver is compliant, intuitive and future-ready. Working hand-in-hand with Technology, our system partner Trax, and colleagues across Engineering & Maintenance, you’ll turn complex technology into practical, people-focused solutions that keep Virgin Atlantic moving.
Day to day
- Own and deliver the eMRO & Planning Control product roadmap, building business cases for enhancements, prioritising the backlog and balancing regulatory, operational and user needs.
- Act as the systems super-user and business expert, championing effective use of eMRO and Planning Control through training, guidance, and continuously improving procedures and documentation.
- Lead the business coordination of system changes, including enhancements, releases and updates, working closely with Technology and Trax to ensure smooth delivery and clear user communication.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system configuration, access management and change control to ensure systems are compliant, optimised and ready for operational use.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner – eMobility, Data & Analytics, Continuous Improvement teams and industry peers to ensure seamless integration, innovation and an excellent end-user experience.
About You
You’re a confident, collaborative Product Owner who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, operations and people, turning complex systems into tools that genuinely support great outcomes. We’d also love for our successful candidate to demonstrate the following:
- Experience delivering complex systems or technology-enabled change, with confidence managing priorities, trade-offs and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong IT and systems knowledge, including software development, agile ways of working and an understanding of how systems interact with people and processes.
- The ability to translate technical complexity into clear, accessible language, building trust and engagement with non-IT users.
- A proactive, self-sufficient approach, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders across the business and take ownership of outcomes.
- Leadership experience (people and/or major projects), with a coaching mindset that supports continuous improvement and collaboration.
Although not essential, it would be great if you also have experience within CAMO / Part M and Supply Chain environments.
