About the role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Analyst for Crew Logistics to join our esteemed team. This role provides analytical support within the Workforce Planning team, specifically delivering outputs from crew pairings and pilot and cabin crew FTE tracking that inform workforce planning models. As an Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Analyst to evaluate future season flight schedules and changes to flying programmes, supporting the optimisation of workforce plans for both flight and cabin crew. You will also contribute to the timely, accurate, and cost-effective production of crew pairings for the Roster Production team, ensuring compliance with EASA regulations, FRM principles, and industrial agreements. Through your analytical expertise, you will play a key role in the efficient and compliant operation of Crew Logistics, supporting Virgin Atlantic’s organisational objectives.
Day to Day:
- Support the Lead Analyst in reconciling and tracking FTE data that feeds into crew workforce planning models.
- Conduct regular data analysis and reporting on crew pairings and workforce plans to identify inefficiencies and trends in flying programme, including insights on duty days, days off, standby coverage, and crew hotel requirements.
- Maintain seasonal crew pairings, delivering optimal and accurate solutions to the Rostering team monthly to support efficient and compliant roster production.
- Optimise standby planning to ensure effective coverage, using analysis of historic trends and disruption patterns to maintain operational resilience.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and union agreements, including FRM evaluation, making recommendations as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement of the AIMS pairings generator to ensure optimal crew pairings are achieved.
About you:
- Good level of Excel functions and complex formulas to analyse and interpret data effectively.
- Ability to manipulate large volumes of data, with V‑Look Ups, H‑Look Ups and Pivot Tables as a minimum.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with proven experience delivering accurate analysis to a high standard while working to deadlines in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience with crew and roster management systems such as AIMs or similar (preferred).
- Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in driving efficiency through process improvement.
- Resilient under pressure, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Interviews will be held at VHQ Crawley on the 26th November and onwards (2025) (with an assessment a first stage).
