As we continue to strengthen our Maintenance and Operations capability, we’re focused on building high-performing teams that keep our aircraft safe, compliant, and ready to fly.
As a Cabin Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety, airworthiness, and presentation of our aircraft. Working within our Cabin Maintenance function, you’ll carry out hands-on maintenance tasks in line with approved procedures, supporting the safe and reliable operation of the Virgin Atlantic fleet. This role sits within a highly specialised Maintenance and Operations environment, where attention to detail, strong engineering practice, and a commitment to safety are essential.
Day to day, as a Cabin Technician, you will:
- Carry out hands-on maintenance of aircraft systems, components, and Cabin / IFEC equipment in line with approved maintenance data and VAA procedures.
- Ensure the VAA Cabin performance standards are upheld at all times.
- Work under the guidance of a designated Certifying Engineer, while also completing delegated tasks independently where appropriate.
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet required airworthiness standards and Virgin Atlantic procedures.
- Accurately complete computer-based maintenance records, logbooks, and associated documentation.
- Apply sound engineering judgement and communicate clearly with supervisors and engineering colleagues.
- Comply fully with Health & Safety requirements, including the use of PPE and good housekeeping practices.
- Participate in performance reviews, technical training, and refresher programmes.
- Take ownership of cost control, waste reduction, and efficient working practices.
- Maintain compliance with CAA regulations, company procedures, and airport requirements at all times.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong aircraft engineering background, who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance in a safety-critical environment. You’ll bring:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within engineering teams.
- Proven adaptability to changing operational demands and working environments.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Working knowledge of relevant company IT and maintenance record systems.
- Experience and technical knowledge of aircraft systems sufficient to determine airworthiness.
In addition to the above, we’d love for our successful Cabin Technician to demonstrate:
- A recognised aeronautical apprenticeship (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Hands-on aircraft Cabin maintenance experience with strong practical engineering skills.
- Knowledge of Virgin Atlantic fleet aircraft or similar complex aircraft environments.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently when required.
It would be great if you also have:
- CAA licence qualifications aligned to the role, with associated certification responsibilities where applicable.
- Company approvals on fleet aircraft types.
