Curious about how airlines make strategic decisions on where to fly and who to partner with? As our new Apprentice – Network & Alliances Development, you’ll step into the engine room of Virgin Atlantic’s global strategy.
You\'ll play a key role in transforming raw data into compelling insights that shape the future of our network – from route profitability to market share dynamics. Whether it’s reporting performance metrics or helping us identify new opportunities with our partners, you’ll be working closely with both our commercial and data teams. It’s a fantastic launchpad for anyone looking to combine analytical thinking, real-world business impact, and a passion for aviation.
Day to day
- Own and manage a variety of regular reports for internal and external use, using Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
- Develop new reporting tools and enhance existing dashboards to surface actionable insights
- Apply visualisation best practices to highlight network performance and profitability
- Collaborate with Network & Alliances colleagues to understand reporting needs and priorities
- Work hand-in-hand with the Data & AI team to access the right data in the right format
- Communicate trends and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders across the business
- Help ensure consistent use of data across teams by aligning on definitions and methodologies
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the reporting process
- Naturally curious and eager to learn in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
- Comfortable with numbers and keen to develop your analytical toolkit
- Familiar with – or excited to get hands-on with – Microsoft PowerBI and Excel
- Able to think both logically and creatively when problem-solving
- Highly organised, with an interest in improving processes and automating where possible
- A strong communicator who can explain technical details in plain English
- A collaborative teammate who thrives on shared success and constructive feedback
- You don’t need prior experience in aviation or data roles – just a willingness to grow and get stuck in
