The Brand Activation Manager is responsible for bringing Virgin Active’s brand to life through exceptional events, partnerships, and experiences. This role plays a key part in elevating our position as a leading Social Wellness Club, strengthening member loyalty, attracting new members, and reinforcing our premium brand identity while delivering measurable commercial impact.
The Role
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of in-club and external events, from concept development through to execution and post-event analysis.
- Develop and deliver an events and brand activation strategy aligned to business, brand, and commercial objectives.
- Work closely with Marketing, CRM, Sales, Finance, and ancillary teams to ensure activations support acquisition, engagement, and retention goals.
- Source, negotiate, and manage strategic brand and charity partnerships that enhance member value.
- Manage and oversee PR agency activity to secure high-quality, consistent media coverage for the brand and its activations.
- Manage and develop one direct report and oversee freelance project managers and agencies when required.
- Represent Virgin Active at internal, external, and industry events.
- Ensure all activations meet Health & Safety and legal requirements.
- Manage and phase the annual events budget in line with business priorities and ROI targets.
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in brand activation, events, or experiential marketing, ideally within fitness, premium leisure, hospitality, or lifestyle sectors.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, high-impact events and content-led activations.
- Experience managing PR agencies and a strong understanding of the media landscape.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build strategies that drive acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Experience managing and developing direct reports.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work to tight deadlines, and flex working hours when required for event delivery.
