Role Overview
As a Lifeguard you will supervise members in the pool, ensuring their safety and providing great customer service. You will support the Operations team by keeping our clubs clean and tidy, and by controlling staffing and facility issues during your duty shifts.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a friendly, calm and approachable manner and act quickly and effectively at all times.
- Ensure the utmost safety of members in the pool and spa areas and take responsibility for your own personal safety and that of others.
- Complete safety checks and record them accurately.
- Monitor water chemical levels and clean the water when appropriate.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and adhere to Virgin Active’s high standards.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
- Fulfil duty shifts when required, taking responsibility and accountability during the shift.
- Control staffing and facility issues throughout the club.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for swimming and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm, approachable and act quickly in an emergency.
- Willingly comply with all mandatory training and health and safety requirements.
- No current lifeguard qualification required; training will be provided and a Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding will be earned over 5 days.
