Virax Biolabs Group Limited is an innovative biotechnology company focused on the detection of immune responses to and diagnosis of viral diseases. The company is now working on a major new initiative to launch its flagship ViraxImmuneâ„¢ profiling platform. This technology is expected to facilitate the diagnosis of chronic conditions such as post viral syndromes, Lyme disease, and ME/CFS. In parallel Virax Biolabs is rolling out ImmuneSelect, a range of products dedicated to immunology and clinical research.
We are seeking a R&D technician to work within our R&D team, based in Biocity Glasgow. In this role, your primarily focus will be on the development of processes for the manufacturing of peptide libraries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesis of peptides using automated peptide synthesizers and development of analytical methods to purify and characterise peptides.
- Execute experiments following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables.
- Document all experimental procedures and results in accordance with our Quality Management System
What your background should like:
- BSc/MSc in Chemistry or related Chemical Science.
- Capable of immediate independent laboratory work.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in peptide synthesis, purification and analysis would be preferred.
