We are looking for two experienced technologists to join us at Virani – Senior Specifications Technologist and a Specifications Technologist
Senior specifications technologist – permanent. Hybrid working by agreement.
You are an experienced technologist with experience in product specifications in the food industry, including exposure to different specifications/data systems and customer portals. You will be able to assist in developing more effective and efficient technical information processes in order to meet company and customer requirements
Responsibilities include:
Prioritise, allocate and complete queries in the technical inbox, working to meet agreed deadlines
Accurately prepare, manage, and maintain product specifications, including upload into customer portals
Ensure all technical documentation meets both company and regulatory standards
Stay up-to-date with UK food regulations, ensuring compliance across the board
Effectively communicate technical information to both internal and external stakeholders
Lead a small team of specification technologists
Person Preference:
Proven experience in writing and managing specifications in the food manufacturing industry is essential
Herb/spice/ingredient experience useful
Strong knowledge of UK food laws, labelling, and regulatory requirements
Attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills for liaising with both internal and external stakeholder
Qualifications
Degree in a scientific subject preferable
