VIQU have partnered with a well-established systems integrator delivering critical Protection & Control solutions across the UK Transmission and Distribution network. Operating in highly regulated environments, this organisation is known for its technical depth, long-term client relationships, and involvement in nationally significant energy projects.
This is a senior technical role where you'll take ownership of Protection & Control designs, acting as the technical authority across projects while working closely with clients, project managers, and delivery teams.
The role:
- Technical lead for Protection & Control systems across UK T&D projects
- Design authority, ensuring compliance with client, regulatory, and industry standards
- Development of SLDs, KLDs, system architecture and concept-level designs
- Producing and reviewing schematics, layouts, calculations, and design documentation
- Chairing design reviews and technical workshops
- Supporting tendering, delivery, change control, and risk management
- Site visits and technical input during implementation when required
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience in Protection & Control within UK Transmission & Distribution
- Solid knowledge of IEC 61850 and substation communication protocols
- Experience working with leading P&C vendors
- Understanding of cyber security considerations in P&C system design
- Confident technical leader with strong stakeholder communication skills
- Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
