Location: Milton Keynes (1 day per week onsite) | Salary: Up to £68,000

VIQU is recruiting a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a leading organisation operating within the UK energy and utilities sector. This business specialises in grid consultancy, private networks, and electricity distribution infrastructure, working closely with developers, ICPs, and DNOs across the UK.

This role will focus on reviewing and developing new electricity network designs, supporting projects from initial concept through to energisation and final adoption. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring designs are technically compliant, commercially viable, and aligned with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve new electricity network connection designs submitted by developers and ICPs for adoption
  • Design and develop new electricity network connections, including determining Points of Connection (PoC)
  • Produce and review 11kV and 33kV electrical network designs in line with industry standards
  • Ensure all adoptable networks comply with company standards, NERS accreditation requirements, and regulatory legislation
  • Work closely with DNO planning and design teams to maintain strong technical relationships
  • Support projects from initial award through to completion
