VIQU have partnered with an established, family-owned engineering manufacturer developing specialist commercial vehicles used across the UK and internationally. The Mechanical Chassis Design Engineer will join an eight-person chassis team, working across the full product life cycle - from early concepts and component design through to validation, production support and aftermarket field fixes. The role offers scope to progress from component-level design into wider systems architecture and project engineering responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and detailing chassis systems, structures and mechanical components
- Producing engineering drawings and accurate Bills of Materials
- Supporting DVP R, design reviews and product validation
- Resolving manufacturing, build and field-service issues through root-cause analysis
- Working with suppliers, customers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Considering manufacturability, cost, quality and performance throughout the design process
